Violinist Maria Lin makes her home in Houston where she plays regularly with the Houston Grand Opera, Houston Ballet and Houston Symphony.
She is also a frequent performer with Houston-based early music ensembles Mercury Baroque, the Bach Society, and Ars Lyrica.
A native New Yorker, Maria has performed in orchestras and chamber groups
throughout New England, including the Rochester Philharmonic and the Portland Symphony. She has also participated in numerous music festivals
including Tanglewood, Spoleto (Italy), Grand Teton, and the International Musician's Seminar at Prussia Cove (Cornwall, England). In 1997, she made her solo recital debut at Weill Recital Hall in New York City. She attended Indiana University, New England Conservatory and the Eastman School of Music where her primary teachers were James Buswell and Zvi Zeitlin.
Maria plays on a violin made in Florence, Italy, in 1700 by Giovanni Baptista Gabrieli.
