Bassist Deborah Dunham is a native of Massachusetts in the United States. Her principal teachers included Dennis Trembly, Orin O'Brien, Stuart Sankey, and John J. Brown. She is currently working with Paul Ellison at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music where she is enrolled in a Doctorate of Musical Arts program. She continues to serve as principal bass of Boston Baroque, Mercury Baroque Ensemble and the newly formed River Oaks Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Dunham has performed at many music festivals including Aspen, Kent/Blossom, Tanglewood, Grand Tetons, Mainly Mozart, Vermont Musica Viva, Ernen, Switzerland's Festival der Zukunft and Hong Kong's contemporary music festival, Musicarama. Ms. Dunham was Artistic Director of the Society for Chamber Music in Rochester between 1995 and 2000. At that time she also played with the Boston Symphony and the Boston Pops orchestras. Since 2001, Ms. Dunham has recorded annually for Telarc Records as a member of Boston Baroque. She has also recorded for Arsis, Bridge, Mode, New Albion and New World Records in collaboration with other artists.
